Business Setup in Sharjah Mainland

Hassle-free Sharjah business setup with the most affordable and dependable business consultants

Sharjah is one of the best options for setting up a business in the UAE. Dubai may be the most sought-after spot in the region, but Sharjah is close behind, and it’s easy to understand why. The Emirate has easy access to the International Airport and is connected to ports on the west and east coasts of the Arabian Gulf. The prime location gives the city a direct entrance to North Africa and the Indian Ocean, which provides a sea of opportunities and recognition for business owners.

The location isn’t the only thing that’s drawing business owners to this Emirate. For starters, Sharjah is one of the safest global cities with an extremely low crime rate. The business fee structure and the economy is liberal with competitive property lease rates. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also access to a highly qualified and skilled workforce that’s ready to get to work for your Sharjah Mainland Company.

How Can I Start a Business in Sharjah?

Business setup in Sharjah is a quick and easy process, but there is a lot of legal paperwork that needs to be done. This can be challenging if you aren’t familiar with the UAE legal system. This is where it becomes important to work with a consultancy firm to help guide you through the process. The team at MSZ Consultancy are experts in all areas involving business setup in the UAE. We can make this a smooth process without any hassles.

Here are the steps you need to take for Sharjah Mainland business setup:

Obtain the MOA and company’s lease agreement signed by a public notary

First, you’ll have to get an MOA, which is a written agreement between parties that shows they agree to work together. That will have to be notarized. You’ll also have to find an office space and get the lease agreement notarized.

Furnish the necessary documents

Next, you’ll have to get together all the required documents. These could vary depending on your business activity.

Pay the license fees to obtain a trade license

Next, you’ll have to pay the fees that are required to apply for your trade license. There are three types of business licenses that are available in Sharjah:

  • Industrial License
  • Commercial License

Obtain approval from the Name board

You will have to come up with three different name options to submit. Your name must be unique, it can’t contain any obscene or indecent words, and it can’t indicate God’s names in Arabic or English.

Apply for an establishment card

Now, you’ll have to apply for an establishment card through the Immigration Authority and pay the fees that come with it. This is basically just a plastic card that contains information about your company.

Get approval from the Ministry of Labor for hiring an employee

You’ll have to get an Entry Visa and work permit from the Ministry of Labor for your employees. You’ll have to apply for this on behalf of the employees.

Get the stamp on the visa

Now it’s time to start going through the process to get a valid stamped passport. This will have to be done in the UAE by your local sponsor or partner.

Determine the type of business activity that you will be conducting

You’ll need to finalize your business activity. The type of business you will have will help you decide on what type of business license you need.

Find a local sponsor

If you are a foreign investor, then you will need to have a local sponsor. This is a UAE National that will serve as a sleeping partner in the company and own 51% of the shares in the company.

Submit forms to the Department of Economic Development (DED)

During this step, you’ll have to submit all the necessary forms for your name along with your company registration form to the Department of Economic Development.

File license

Next, you’ll have to file your trade license with the Department of Economic Development.

Get the trade name registered

After you’ve finalized your trade name, you will have to register it with the Department of Economic Development. This can be done online
