Who is Eligible for a UAE Work Visa?

In short, any foreigner over 18 is permitted to work in the UAE. As long as this employee is in good standing and health, their application will be considered. While there is no maximum age, applicants over the age of 65 will be expected to pay a higher application fee.

In most cases, workers are divided into different categories based on their qualifications. These include:

Level 1 Employees
These employees typically fall into the category of skilled professionals with advanced qualifications, such as bachelor’s degrees or higher, and significant expertise in their respective fields.

Level 2 Employees
This category includes individuals with a standard level of education and expertise in their respective fields but may not have the advanced qualifications required for Level 1 classification.

Level 3 Employees
These employees are typically those with entry-level qualifications and limited experience. This category is designed for individuals who are starting their careers or have basic qualifications in their chosen fields. Level 3 may include roles in hospitality, retail, and general services.

How to Renew Your Employment Visa

Work visas are only good for 1-3 years, and they have to be renewed after that. Your sponsor will be responsible for making sure your visa is renewed within 30 days before it is set to expire. They will go through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs to start the renewal process.
