Residence visa in Dubai – Expat residents (both employers and employees) may sponsor their families in the UAE provided they have a valid residency permit.

Your minimum salary should be AED 4000 or AED 3000 plus accommodation for sponsoring wife or child’s.
The expat resident can only sponsor his daughter if she is unmarried; and also he can only sponsor his son until the age of 18. But you can also be sponsored your son until the age of 21 if the son is studying in the UAE or abroad by providing the proof that he is studying.
Note: The male sponsor must also hold a profession which allows him to sponsor his family. For e.g. The domestic helpers and some of other categories cannot sponsor their families regardless of their salary.
You have 60 days to apply for your dependents residence visa after they enter the UAE; and then modify their status from an entry permit holder to a resident visa holder.
Woman sponsoring her family
In Abu Dhabi, if a woman wants to sponsor her husband and children then she holds a residence visa stating that she is a teacher, engineer, doctor, nurse or any other job related to the medical sector; and also her monthly salary is not less than AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus accommodation.
In Dubai, if a woman is not employed in one of those categories are mentioned above, but her monthly salary is more than AED 10,000 then she may still get approval to sponsor her family and with a special permission from the DNRD.
Required documents to sponsor wife and children include
- Online application form
- Passport copies of the wife and also the children
- Photos of the wife and children
- Copy of the labor contract.
- Medical clearance certificate for the wife and children (above the age of 18)
- Salary certificate from the company.
- Tenancy contract.
- Three months bank statement.
- Emirates ID
- Legalized marriage certificate
- Latest utility bill.
